Hace unos John Frusciante<\/strong> declaraba en Electronic Beats<\/a> que se cerraba a \u00abgrabar m\u00fasica para nadie en concreto\u00bb o incluso \u00abcompartirla con su audiencia\u00bb, argumentando incluso que no ten\u00eda una audiencia concreta.<\/p>\n

Ahora, el m\u00fasico ha publicado material in\u00e9dito, subi\u00e9ndolo a Bandcamp<\/a>, y a trav\u00e9s de un comunicado<\/a> expuesto en su p\u00e1gina web Frusciante explica lo que a priori parec\u00eda un acto contradictorio. En el comunicado, el m\u00fasico aclara sentido de estas declaraciones, sosteniendo que fueron malinterpretadas.<\/p>\n

\u00abI also must clear something up. I normally don\u2019t read my press, but I heard about this quote, recently taken out of context by some lame website and made into a headline, in which I said \u201cI have no audience\u201d. This has been misinterpreted<\/strong>, and by no fault of the excellent journalist who interviewed me for the fine publication Electronic Beats. Ever since I quit my old band in 2008, I have made music specifically to learn and to make the music which I want to hear, without an audience in mind<\/strong>. Nevertheless, between 2008 and 2013, every time I recorded a track, I sent it to Aaron Funk and Chris McDonald who are my Speed Dealer Moms bandmates, and often to a few other friends. Early on in this period, I realized that whoever I sent my music to or played my music for had become my \u201caudience\u201d, ie the people who I aimed my music at\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Yendo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 en cuanto a estas reflexiones, Frusciante habla sobre lo que considera vender o dar arte. Aqu\u00ed os dejamos otro interesante fragmento donde reflexiona sobre ello:<\/p>\n

\u00abWhen someone releases music on a label, they are selling it, not giving it. Art is a matter of giving<\/strong>. If I sing my friend a song, it goes from me to her, at no cost. That\u2019s giving. If I sell you an object, we do not say that I gave you that object. Recording artists have been \u201cgiving\u201d the public music by selling it to them for so long that we now think of sell-outs as dedicated musicians who love their audience so much that they aggressively sell them products<\/strong>, and sell themselves as an image and personality to this audience on a regular basis just as aggresively.\u00a0 Sell-outs is an antiquated term which, when I was a kid, referred to artists who love making money more than they love making music<\/strong>. The word indicated a lack of artistic integrity. Sell-outs suck, in my opinion. Its a shame its become so normal, expected, and acceptable to be one. When I was a teenager it was very common for people who loved music to insult a recording artist for being, or becoming, a sell-out. I believe that this was a very healthy instinct on the part of music lovers\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Entre el material que Frusciante ha subido a su\u00a0Bandcamp oficial<\/a> se encuentra una pieza instrumental grabada en 2013 con Omar-Rodr\u00edguez L\u00f3pez<\/strong> (The Mars Volta) de Fight For Love<\/em>, theme de la pel\u00edcula Casa de Mi Padre<\/strong><\/em>; Medre<\/em>, un tema grabado en 2008; y una versi\u00f3n de Zone<\/em> del album Enclosure<\/strong><\/em>. Por otro lado se encuentra una una colecci\u00f3n de seis canciones grabadas en un cuatro pistas en 2010, y un sample de 20 minutos de Sect In Sgt<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Frusciante ha dejado caer que puede que suba m\u00e1s m\u00fasica en un futuro.<\/p>\n
