Su \u00faltimo disco editado fue en 1998, <em><strong>Munki<\/strong><\/em>. El grupo se separ\u00f3 oficialmente en 1999 aunque en 2007 el grupo volvi\u00f3 a reunirse para tocar en diversos festivales como <strong>Coachella<\/strong> y <strong>Primavera Sound<\/strong>. El grupo ha seguido tocando intermit\u00e9ntemente en directo y de su actuaci\u00f3n en el <strong>Barrowlands Ballroom<\/strong> en noviembre de 2014, se public\u00f3 un disco en directo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El grupo se encontrar\u00eda ahora en estudio trabajando para su pr\u00f3ximo \u00e1lbum, seg\u00fan informa <a href=\"http:\/\/consequenceofsound.net\/2015\/09\/the-jesus-and-chain-begin-work-on-first-album-in-17-years\/\" target=\"_blank\">Consequence of Sound<\/a>. Seg\u00fan ha declarado Jim Reid:<em> \u00abEs prematuro, pero dir\u00eda que es un sonido m\u00e1s maduro para Mary Chain.
